ENQUIRO PRESENTS RESEARCH FINDINGS IN CHINA

For immediate release

Kelowna, BC – May 28, 2007 – Enquiro Search Solutions CEO Gord Hotchkiss was recently asked to present at the Search Engine Strategies Conference & Expo 2007 in Xiamen, China. The May 25/26 conference, taking place for only the second time in China, focused on multi-national marketing issues. Hotchkiss presented findings of a recent Enquiro search engine eye tracking study conducted on Chinese students.

The international relevancy of this latest study comes after a research paper which Enquiro published in 2005 on user interaction with the popular search engine Google. Using innovative eye tracking technology, participants in Kelowna were able to take part in the study which showed how eyes scan the results of search queries. A follow up study was released in November 2006 which looked further into interaction with Google and compared those to the Yahoo and MSN search engines.

In his presentation to a Chinese audience on May 25, Hotchkiss stated “China is now the second largest internet market in the world, at 150 million users, just slightly behind the US at 154 million. But that represents 68% market penetration for the US, and slightly more than 10% for China.” Given the importance of China as an emerging market, Enquiro sought to understand how the Chinese language influences user interaction with Google and popular Chinese search engine Baidu. The new Chinese study, the first of its kind, now presented in Xiamen, China on May 25, will be released as a full research paper by Enquiro in June.
