The Team at EnquiroOur team members are skilled and talented individuals and their input is eagerly sought in every aspect of our company's growth. They have helped push us to the forefront of our industry.

Individuals at Mediative exemplify thought leadership through extensive article writing and speaking at leading industry events world wide, including Asia and Europe. And even though our reach is global, our corporate culture fosters personal development, a strong team ethic and involvement in the community. Our employees have contributed to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, the Canadian Red Cross, local Food Banks, and CIBC Run for the Cure. Before becoming part of Mediative in 2010, Enquiro had made the Deloitte Technology Fast 500 in 2004, and had been listed on Profit 100 Canada's Fastest Growing Companies for 2005, 2006 and 2007.

Gord Hotchkiss - SVP

In understanding search user behavior, no one is a more respected voice than Gord Hotchkiss. He and the research team at Mediative have built a solid reputation as the leading experts in understanding not only what happens on a search portal, but also why. Gord's voracious personal curiosity extends into areas as diverse as neurology, psychology, genetics, sociology and anthropology, always with the goal of understanding why we do the things we do and what that means for marketing strategy.

In addition to being the SVP at Mediative, Gord is a director and the past Chairman of SEMPO, a columnist for MediaPost and Search Engine Land, a regular presenter at all the industry shows and a popular keynote speaker. See My Top 10 Music List!

Bill Barnes - VP, Business Development

Bill Barnes has been in the marketing, advertising and promotion industry for 20 years. He began his career in radio as an announcer, was a Clio award-winning producer and held a senior management position. He has extensive experience in hiring, managing and motivating a team of professionals. Since 1997 he has focused on Sales & Marketing, developing and negotiating high level, innovative sales and marketing packages for local, national and international companies. Most recently Bill has over-seen the explosive sales growth of Mediative.

Heather Burns - Director, HR and Administration

Heather is responsible for Mediative Performance’s Human Resources and Administration areas. Heather has worked in the area of Human Resources and Administration for over 20 years and brings a diverse background in Human Resources including recruitment, benefits and compensation, performance management, policies and procedures, training and development, and coaching. She has also demonstrated her commitment to ensuring efficient and effective administration systems and loves getting things organized!

Heather is committed to providing the highest standard of service to her clients - the team members of Mediative! She ensures the unique corporate culture that exists and Mediative’s Core Values are incorporated into how she approaches all aspects of her position, from how she recruits new team members to how she determines what new HR programs might add value or improve team members’ job satisfaction. Barb Newman - Manager, Special Projects

Barb is responsible for our systems implementations and IT operations. Barb has extensive expertise in all aspects of software engineering, project management and change management. That, combined with her acquired knowledge about the search engine marketing industry along with her team leadership, communication and client relations skills make her a driving force behind Mediative's continued success.  See My Top 10 Music List!

Angie Dzwonkiewicz - Marketing Manager

Angie specializes in paid search marketing and has been a part of the Service Delivery Team for nearly 2 years. She brings forth background knowledge in email marketing and process management with expertise in strategic and tactical implementation, as well as data analysis and developing strong operating mechanisms. Her commitment to delivering effective campaign results and build strong client relationships have contributed to the success of the online marketing initiatives of a variety of accounts. Charlotte Bourne - Search Marketing Strategist

Charlotte is a part of Mediative's Service Delivery team, focusing on organic search marketing. She is interested in the challenges and opportunities presented by a field that is continually evolving. Charlotte joined us with an educational background in commerce, cultural studies and information technology and has SEO-specific training from Search Engine Academy West. Her organizational and analytical skills and commitment to learning help her achieve client success.

Cherise Myers - Director of Project Management

Cherise joined Enquiro in January of 2005 with a strong background in IT Project Management, Client Service and Web Design. After 4 years with Enquiro(now Mediative), her experience as a Sponsored Search Strategist and Account Director has prepared her for her role as Director of Search Marketing. Using client advocacy as her guiding principle, Cherise is responsible for the vision and growth of the Search Marketing team through innovative thinking, strategic planning and by providing direction and guidance to encourage the individual growth and contribution of each team member. Chris Pinkerton - Senior Account Executive

Chris is focused on providing valuable and result-oriented solutions to Mediaitve clients. His eight years of account management experience allows him to effectively communicate client needs to both the Research and Search Marketing Teams, making high client expectations a reality. Chris understands the complexities of the B2B search environment, and he works with Mediative's internal teams to help develop insightful search strategies that drive towards achieving clients business objectives. He also works closely with the Marketing department to develop lead generation best practices. Chris is excited about the dynamic shift in online marketing strategies and the opportunity to help companies embrace and prosper during this change. Cindy Danielson Manager, Product Development

Cindy joined Mediative with previous expertise as marketing manager, sales support and project management in Kelowna and Calgary tech sectors. Her first position at Mediative was supporting the sales team with process, proposals and Salesforce implementation. Since then, her role has evolved to leading the product development process in collaboration with marketing, service delivery and our clients. She is known for ‘getting things done’ and her relentless nature doesn’t allow her to give up until she finds the answer or solves the problem. Her excellent organizational skills and attention to detail serves her well as she juggles multiple projects and initiatives through to completion. The pursuit to improve Mediative’s process, projects, or herself is what motivates her. In her free time, she enjoys the outdoors, fitness and family.

Denise Herrington - Executive Assistant

Denise brings years of experience in administrative and executive assistant roles to Mediative. Denise has recently developed travel initiatives for all of Mediaitve's off-site guest appearances, research projects, and training. She is an expert with organization and is accustomed to achieving spectacular results in environments with competing demands. Denise will continue to work closely with our Management and Directors in their pursuit of valued growth for both Mediative and our customers. See My Top 10 Music List!

Douglas Moore, BA - Controller

Doug joined us with a focus on developing a dashboard on operations, improving project costing objectives of the company and providing guidance and assistance in financial policy and procedures. Continual upgrading of systems, timing of reports and budget revisions are proving to be integral to Mediative's performance. See My Top 10 Music List!

Ian Everdell, B.Sc.H, M.ScUsability Consultant

With a background in neuroscience, web design, and more than 5 years experience with eye tracking, Ian brings knowledge of human behaviour and human-computer interaction to the Mediative team. As a Usability Consultant, he thrives off helping clients improve the online experience for their potential customers.

Since content development, copywriting, findability, and site architecture are a big part of both user experience and search engine optimization Ian plays a key role on many SEO projects. Usability is also an integral part of landing page and conversion optimization for online marketing campaigns meaning Ian further lends his unique expertise to the strategy development of both PPC and display advertising projects.

Ultimately, Ian believes that success in digital marketing comes down to two things: being found and being good. If you aren’t doing both of those, your online presence (or lack thereof) is doing you a disservice.

Ian manages the projects for several key accounts and is also the project manager for Mediative’s ongoing search engine and buyer behaviour research.

Jason Lane, B.Sc - Project Manager

Jason is a team lead overseeing one of the search engine marketing teams at Mediative and has been with the company since 1999 (then Enquiro). His responsibilities include administrating the day-to-day operations of the team, creating search strategies and facilitating all aspects of the client experience with Mediative. Jason keeps on top of the latest developments in the search engine marketing industry. He attends conferences such as Search Engine Strategies. Karl Hourigan - Content Development Strategist

Karl's corporate web experience dates back to 1997, when his career in sales and then marketing went digital and he became the original "webmaster" for Roland Canada Music, a B2B company with a distribution network of musical instrument retailers. He began teaching and guest lecturing at colleges and universities on the relatively new topic of "internet marketing". His constant curiosity and drive to get to the essential core of any situation served him well when he came on board as a member of Mediative's Service Delivery Team in 2008. By 2009 he was a member of our Research team, conducting eye tracking studies, online surveys, one-on-one interviews and usability testing. Most recently he has joined the marketing team at Mediative. On weekends you’ll find him out and about playing guitar with his Celtic rock band, The Malarkeys.See My Top 10 Music List!

Kyle Grant - Senior Search Marketing Strategist

As Mediative's senior sponsored search strategist, Kyle provides strategy for some of the company’s most demanding and complex B2B and B2C paid search accounts. He has a wealth of experience designing and managing behaviorally targeted local campaigns to multi-million dollar international e-tail campaigns. He is able to combine his skills in data analysis and marketing ability to develop highly targeted ad messaging and campaigns, aiming to not only access the correct target market but to speak to them with the right language. Kyle is also a student pilot and applies the same thoroughness and critical analysis to his sponsored management strategies that keeps him safe in the air.

Marta Turek - Search Marketing Strategist

Marta joins the team offering an international perspective, having worked in search marketing in both the Australian and North American markets. With experience in business development, Marta understands the importance of working towards key metrics and ROI driven goals. She strives to develop client solutions that ultimately deliver bottom-line accountability. Marta’s passion for search marketing extends to her client relationships and campaign management where she excels at both strategic thought and tactical implementation.

JodyJody Nimetz, MCSE, MCP- Manager SEO/Organic Search

Jody has been specializing in organic search for the better part of the past decade. Having spent seven years with Enquiro, Jody has dealt with some of the largest brands in the world reviewing sites, providing insightful analysis and mapping online strategies for our clients. Jody has contributed articles to leading industry resources such as Search Engine Guide, Web Pro News Canada, Search Engine Journal and his own blog Marketing-Jive.com. Jody has created and developed SEO for Website Redesign solutions, has prepared numerous SEO best practices and is an advocate of continuous improvement. Jody plays a key role in helping Mediative deliver cutting edge search strategies, assisting clients with adapting to the ever-changing online universe. When he’s not working on SEO or online strategies, Jody enjoys spending time with his family.

Nicholas Fane - Account Executive

Nick’s background in marketing and finance allows him to see the ‘big picture’ and ensure that the strategic and tactical approach work together to meet client’s business goals. His four years of B2B account management experience allows him effectively communicate the relationship between strategies, implementation, and key success metrics. He works with the service delivery team to ensure that his client’s expectations are exceeded and that no opportunity is left unaddressed. Nick loves working with clients to help unlock ‘lost opportunities’ and to capitalize on the constantly progressing search marketing industry.

Rebecca Maynes - Client Advocate Analyst

Rebecca graduated from Cardiff University in Wales with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. She has worked in several countries and throughout her work experience has gained a broad knowledge and overall understanding of the challenges of running a successful business. Her background in Marketing and Administration ensures she makes a positive contribution to Mediative’s Sales and Marketing team. As Client Advocate Analyst, Rebecca supports the Sales, Product Marketing and Service Delivery teams from a cross-functional administrative and process perspective, ensuring that everyone is kept accountable to Mediative’s client-centric philosophy.See My Top 10 Music List!

Ryan Wood, B.Sc, MBA - Sales Manager

Ryan understands the importance of increasing ROI and finds creative solutions to do just that. His background in marketing and biochemistry provide both a strategic and analytical approach to solving client needs. He works with search marketing team to develop client specific strategies for PPC campaigns and SEO solutions. Ryan is also heavily involved with research design brainstorming and ensures that the client’s needs are met throughout the entire process.
