term used to describe a major update to Google's search index causing rankings for sites to fluctuate or dance in the results.  When Google updates their search database index, Google servers may return different search results for a few days until the index updating is complete. As a website’s search results page positioning moves up and down during this process, it’s doing the Google dance.

The Google Dance is also the networking event that is annually held at Search Engine Strategies (SES) San Jose in August at the Googleplex.
