A method of URL redirection for use on Apache servers. For use on Apache servers, a MOD rewrite rewrites the requested URL on-the-fly based on configuration directives and rules. Due to the number of rules and configuration options, the MOD Rewrite can be very confusing to implement. A MOD Rewrite helps the Webmaster manipulate the URL to display and serve up including, who visits your site, what pages they are allowed to see, what URL's a search engine or visitor sees.
