This July 6th, 2007 marks the 6th Annual Enquiro Stampede Pancake Breakfast. This year's event will carry on Enquiro's five year Stampede tradition of hosting a pancake breakfast to help local charities. Everyone is welcome to attend the breakfast; it will take place from 7:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. on July 6th at the corner of Dickson Avenue and Dayton Street in Kelowna,British Columbia located directly across from the Landmark III Technology building.
Local celebrities and business leaders will be on hand for a western welcome and to help serve up hearty pancakes and sausages. There is no charge for the pancake breakfast, but donations will be gladly accepted; all money raised will be donated to the Kelowna Women's Shelter. In the past, proceeds have gone to help the Canadian Cancer Society, The United Way, Kids Care and the Kelowna General Hospital and, most recently, the Kelowna Food Bank.
History of the Pancake Breakfast
The pancake breakfast was started by Enquiro in 2002 with the thought of giving something back to the community. The idea came from Enquiro's founders Bill "Chuck-Wagon" Barnes and Gord "Silver-Spurred"
Hotchkiss as they originally roamed the hills and fields of the Stampede-City of Calgary, Alberta Canada.
The timing of the pancake breakfast runs in conjunction with the start of the Calgary Stampede. The 2007 Enquiro Stampede pancake breakfast is to take place on Friday July 6th. You can expect to see regulars in attendance such as Manoj "Pancake Flippin" Jasra, Tracy "Speedy" Kalancha to Rick "The Undertaker" Tobin and Jody "Straight-Shootin" Nimetz. Special appearances by Cory "Black Beard" Bates, Petra "The Outlaw" Leinemann and Ryan "Two-Gunn" Wood. We'll have country tunes, cowboy hats and maybe even a bale of hay or two.
The Pancake Breakfast is free to all who attend but donations will gladly be accepted for this years charity of choice, the Kelowna's Women's Shelter. For 27 years, the Kelowna Women's Shelter has provided vital services to families affected by all forms of abuse and violence. The shelter provides a safe haven where women and children receive emergency accommodation, childcare, support groups and counseling, both in the
shelter facility and community.
